Million's Paws Walk - Lake Weeroona

So Sunday we donned the sneakers and entered the cool drizzly weather at Lake Weeroona, Bendigo to participate in the RSPCA Million Paws Walk. A 3km circuit saw us engulfed by hundreds of dogs and their owners. Bella was in her element, although a rest halfway round was needed for her leg that is still recovering after her operation a few months ago...

I enjoyed my first Mother's Day yesterday! Breakfast in bed with a nice cuppa - my darling boys! How special to now be a mum with a darling son.

We then headed out to Bridgewater to join the community in the Breast Cancer Mothers Day Classic walk.
And what a gorgeous Autumn morning it was, pure blue skies out there and so peaceful along the Loddon River. Quinn slept the whole time during his 6km walk with Danny (I could only manage the 3km walk - just!)
We have now decided as a little family to enjoy a walk every Sunday to explore the region around us and to get fit - we'd love anyone else to join with us - we plan to do a different walk each week - keep posted for our adventures - hopefully we'll take the camera this time!

Well - where have we been these last few months!

Coping with pregnancy and moving and settling into our house is where!

I am 26 weeks pregnant and am extremely tired all the time but work and life go on and I just have to manage and get through. I am looking forward to Christmas very much as I get 10 days off to spend with my darling husband! He has been working like a trojan too with the establishment and development of the solar site at Bridgewater!

So we are waiting on a new camera at the moment, which is another reason why we haven't posted as we like to put photos here too. So when that comes along I have lots to show you!

Moving out of the old's place

Thats right Natalie and Danny have brought a house in Eaglehawk, Bendigo. Moving date is the end of July 08. After months and months of every realestate agent in Bendigo ringing everyday, trying to convince us to by their house for sale. It is a 1930s Californian Bungalow, fully renovated 3 bedroom 1 bathroom and a 4th bedroom or games room at the rear of the property. Have a look at the photos. Now there is no excuse for no visitors to this country town, Eaglehawk!!! Bye for now Danny & Nat.

Weekend Getaway

We headed out to Ballarat (Sebastapol) over the weekend. We stayed in a 1800's mansion, that is now used as Wyndham Resorts.

Check out this big beautiful pine (we reckon it was planted in the late 1800s as well). It was just beautiful!

Oh, these pictures were just devastating. It really highlighted how much we take water for granted and the real effect the drought is having in rural areas in Australia.

This is Lake Wendouree! Yes! The lake! Who would have guessed. The Lake solely relies on rain to fill it up - something the Council never took into account. Now the local council are working on ways to collect water to fill the lake!

Girls Weekend

Dunkeld, in the Grampians. This was our sisters, mum (& neice) long weekend away! Yes, just us girls without the boys - how nice!
We had a lovely time, started off with trawling through some op-shops in Ararat, and then onto Dunkeld. We enjoyed walks around the streets, visiting a gallery, walk through the Dunkeld Arboreteum (yes Tam, that is how you spell it - he he), reading, knitting, embroidery, DVDs, Phase 10 & cups of tea! Oh, not to mention putting little dolly to bed in her basket! (loved hanging out with our little neice!)

I know - all we ever seem to put up on blog is weekends away. But honestly this is the only time we take photos. We have been slack! But hope to get back to blogging shortly and keep everyone updated!

Wedding Anniversary

It's our one year Wedding Anniversary - 28th April! How the year has flown!
We spent the long weekend in Echuca, in a beautiful boutique B&B! Very relaxing and as usual ate good food and relaxed! This is where we stayed Buena Villa for those of you who may want a nice relaxing weekend away by the water! Highly recommended.

Bag Project

So I've been putting my new sewing machine to use and bought a handbag pattern from a favourite store - Spotlight. Here is a beautiful bag I have working on for a darling cousin who has just turned 30!. Thanks to my mum who has helped me understand patterns, not my strength at this stage.

Danny goes 'Green' with employment

That's right l have given up my employment of being a Bendigo bum!! Finally l was offered a job with Solar Systems. I start work on the 26th March 2008. I will be located at a country town called Bridgewater (which is 20 minutes out of Bendigo) as a Site Supervisor for infrastructure. So l will be providing green energy to central Victoria. This is new technology that has never been attempted before. I will post progressive photos as the project unfolds......

Houses

Since moving to Bendigo we have been looking at houses to buy or rent. The experience has been quite amusing as when we'd talk to friends/family/work colleagues about it they would go on to sell us their suburb, you know live here as it's great for shops, parks, community etc. So when we met up with a friend 2 weeks ago for coffee we were talking to her about it and she is a writer/journo for The Weekly (a weekly newspaper here in Bendigo), and she has this column where she writes life articles and has the lifestyle section of the paper. So it was no surprise to open up the paper this week and turn to her page and see she had written about us and our experiences with people selling us their suburb!

Here we are, embarking on a new journey in our marriage. We have arrived in Bendigo in early February and still catching our breath after our big move from Sydney and work and friends there. Nat has been working in her new job for 5 days and Danny is enjoying life, being a fantastic worker for our darling family and waiting patiently to hear back about a fantastic job.
